About this person
Nurbоlat Abildaev, son of Esenbek
A TALENTED SON OF TÖLEBI
Nurbоlat Esenbekuly Abildaev was born on February 12, 1981, in the village of Dihankol, Tölebi district of the South Kazakhstan region. In 1998, he graduated from Dihankol Secondary School. Seeking a profession, he studied at the Shymkent “Agro-Technical College” from 1998 to 2001, earning a qualification as an electrician-mechanic. Later, from 2002 to 2006, he completed part-time studies at the South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov in the field of standardization and certification.
A young man with lofty dreams and remarkable hidden talent since childhood, he decided to try his luck in 2001 at the newly established “Shymkent-Show” theater. Coming from Tölebi, a land that has produced many gifted personalities, he passed the audition effortlessly and became a prominent member of the youth theater.
For more than twenty years, he tirelessly performed on stage, earning the affection of the Kazakh people and becoming a leading figure in the art of satire. Together with the theater troupe, he toured the entire country, making “Shymkent-Show” known far and wide.
After his numerous comedic roles in theater, Nurbоlat Esenbekuly entered the world of cinema and acted in several films. The most notable among them are the series “Zyng-zyng Kulpash,” the films “Life Itself Is a Novella,” “Longing for the Prophet,” and “Two Under One Roof.” These works boosted his popularity and strengthened his reputation among audiences. His well-crafted characters — especially the famous “Nakonai” — are widely recognized not only in Kazakhstan but also in neighboring Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and among Karakalpak communities.
Thanks to his stage mastery, Nurbоlat Esenbekuly has become a widely respected public figure.
Beyond his artistic career, he also ventured into entrepreneurship. In 2021, Nurbоlat Abildaev opened a mare’s milk (saumal) health center in his native village of Dihankol. In the same year, he was awarded the “Best Entrepreneur” badge by the akim of Tölebi district, Tolegen Telgaraev. He also documented and organized the genealogical records of the residents of Dihankol — descendants of Tokpan-baba and Kudaybak-baba — and entered them into the website “Tumalas.kz”.
Nurbоlat Esenbekuly grew up in a large and respected family. His father, Esenbek, was an esteemed elder of the village, known for his humor and goodwill. His mother, Gulzakhira (Kulata), descended from the Kapal clan. True to the Kazakh saying, “A man’s best qualities come from his mother’s side,” his maternal lineage is indeed remarkable: his mother is the sister of Kaldar Koshanbayev, a celebrated community leader and district head of his time.
Thus, Nurbоlat Esenbekuly, who devoted his life to the arts, has become not only the pride of the Tölebi district but also the pride of the nation.
